Mariette Langevin – French Separate – School Board
School Board Trustee
Conseil Scolaire de District Catholique des Aurores Boreales
Thunder Bay Ontario
I was born in La Sarre, Quebec and after graduating from St Joseph’s College in North Bay here in Ontario , I moved to Geraldton with my family. I worked for the family business for a period of 3 years. I then worked as the manager of a medical clinic for 5 years. I was also a school board trustee for one year as well as being the administrator for the Geraldton District Catholic Separate School Board for a period of 5 years.
In 1975, my family and I moved to Thunder Bay. I worked as a translator for “l’Acceuil francophone de Thunder Bay”, as an EI enquiry clerk at Service Canada and then as the executive secretary for the “National Transportation Agency.”
I have been trustee for the “Conseil scolaire de district catholique des Aurores boréales” for the past 2 ½ years and would like to continue doing so.
My motto is: “Promote the French language and culture in our schools.”
